What is Freestyle Skiing?
Freestyle Skiing is about having as much fun as you can on skis as is physically possible!
Freestyle skiing involves 5 different diciplines including big air, moguls, slopestyle, halfpipe and dual moguls. We spend time ripping down the hill on the mogul run, sailing over jumps and sliding rails in the terrain park.
We have professional coaches that coach the athletes and instruct them in a safe and ethical manner to acheive the most positive results.
How can you “TRY FREESTYLE”
If you are an experienced skier just trying to hone your skills or just a young skiier starting out this is a great program for you to see if you can handle ” all the fun you can possible have on skis”
“Try Freestyle” programs can be found at ski resorts across the province. Contact your local ski resort and enquire or contact one of the board of directors to where a program is being hosted.
DELIVERING A FREESTYLERZ PROGRAM AT YOUR CLUB
CFSA member clubs will be able to order Freestylerz Goal Books for their athletes 8 and up who are learning competitive Freestyle skills. The Goal books outline well-rounded Skill Progressions, and provide a checklist for coaches and athletes.
The coaches are trained to teach Freestylerz skills through CFSA’s Advanced Club Coach Modules – and this training is critical for the Freestylerz program to be successfully delivered.
Contact your local Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) to ensure your coaches have access to the training required for your athletes to be successful in meeting their goals!
CONTACTING YOUR PSO!
